Open Access Statement

International Research Publishing Group (IRPG) is committed to immediate Open Access (OA) publication for all articles published under the IRPG imprint. We believe research should be freely available to scholars, practitioners, policy-makers, and the public without paywalls. Every article is published with clear machine-readable metadata and preserved to ensure long-term access and discoverability.

All published articles are made available under a Creative Commons license chosen by the author at acceptance (default: CC BY 4.0) and include a human-readable license statement on the article landing page and within the article PDF.

License Types & Rationale

IRPG supports open reuse while protecting attribution and, where requested, reasonable non-commercial or no-derivatives restrictions. Below are the license options we offer and the rationale for each.

Default: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0)

What it allows: copying, redistribution, remixing, transformation, and commercial use — provided the original authors and source are credited.
Why we use it (rationale): CC BY maximizes reuse, citation, and downstream impact; it is widely accepted by funders and indexers and facilitates text- and data-mining, translation, and reuse in teaching and policy. CC BY supports interoperability with repositories and enables maximal discoverability.

Optional: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0)

What it allows: reuse and adaptation for non-commercial purposes with attribution.
Why choose it: authors who wish to permit broad scholarly reuse but restrict commercial exploitation may select this option. Note: “non-commercial” can be interpreted variably; authors should consider funder requirements before selecting NC.

Optional: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)

What it allows: redistribution with attribution, but no commercial use and no derivative works.
Why choose it: for authors who want to preserve the exact published version for reuse but do not permit modifications or commercial reuse. This option limits downstream reuse (e.g., translations, adaptations) and may reduce discoverability for some reuse scenarios.

Note on funder mandates: Some funders mandate CC BY (or equivalent). Authors with funder requirements should select CC BY at acceptance. If in doubt, contact editorial@irpublishinggroup.com before submission. (See For Authors · Instructions for Authors)
