Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most significant technological innovations transforming the Indian banking industry. AI refers to the ability of machines and computer systems to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, decision-making, language understanding, and problem-solving. In India, banks are increasingly adopting AI technologies to improve customer service, reduce operational costs, detect fraud, automate routine banking processes, and provide personalized financial solutions.
The rapid growth of digital banking, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), internet banking, mobile banking, and fintech companies has accelerated AI adoption in the Indian banking ecosystem. Both public and private sector banks are investing heavily in AI-driven technologies to remain competitive in an increasingly digital financial environment.
